"The most alarming news is certainly that very few youths smoke between 11 and 13 years of age, but their percentage increases dramatically when they reach 15 years: 16% of the total buys cigarettes regularly. The amount of so-called "heavy" smokers, moreover, reaches 7.6%, one of the highest in the world. About the localization in geographical areas, there are more young male smokers in the south and more young female smokers in the center of Italy, while in the north the two parts are equal."
